My mother sent me some flowers when I came out of hospital. To those, my son adds flowers from our garden every day. Ok, it’s usually grass seed from a weed patch growing through the mulch in the garden bed out the front...but he thinks that those soft, grassy stems are magically beautiful and takes a long time choosing just the right stem to bring me each day. The result is a perpetually changing floral arrangement on our dining room table. I’ve captured them here - grass seed and all...and the resulting love, movement and joy...well...it’s just delightful.
Joanne is one of my longest-standing friends. An amazing artist. Our friendship was a bit of a surprise to start with but as soon as I met Jo I just had a deep and abiding adoration for her - she inspires that sort of love. I waited and waited and waited for a piece worthy of her name. Joanne is the most beautiful woman; inside and out. Humble, warm, thoughtful and ever a hand outstretched to help and an ear to listen. She is a perpetual gift in my life. This little bunch of flowers is a sort of perpetual gift, too. No water to change, just ever blooming.
